After Randall Sullivan came on Katie to talk about his new King of Pop biography “Untouchable: The Strange Life and Tragic Death of Michael Jackson,” you had some questions for him. Here, he responds to your Tweets!
When author Randall Sullivan joined Katie to talk about his controversial biography “Untouchable: The Strange Life and Tragic Death of Michael Jackson” you had some questions. While Randall doesn’t have Twitter, he wanted to set the record straight so we brought the Tweets to him. His responses below:
@katiecouric – Sullivan didn’t talk to anybody about anything in that book. It’s based on his assumptions & tabloid trash.

Randall’s Response:
I interviewed many people who were close with Michael Jackson including his criminal attorney Tom Mesereau, personal attorney Dennis Hawk, former business managers, Tohme Tohme and Dieter Wiesner, Michael’s mother Katherine Jackson, many of her advisors and many more. You can also read the 173 pages of notes found in Untouchable that list my sources and how I vetted them.
@katieshow why didn’t he refer to MJ’s autops rpt which says his nose was in tact instead of spreading the lie that he only had nostrils.

Randall’s Response:
I have MJ’s autopsy report (which is cited in my Chapter Notes) and have read it closely. I’ve also seen the photos of MJ’s autopsy, which show the condition of his body at death in graphic detail, and I am basing my description to a substantial degree on those. The autopsy report in no sense states that MJ’s nose was intact, merely that he had a nose. That nose was, as I described, so cut away that it was little more than a nub of bone with two nostrils surrounded by ridges of shriveled cartilage. I didn’t say he had no nose, just not much of one. And that is the same description that has been publicly made by several doctors who examined or treated him in the last five years of his life. Anyone who doubts this can find a photograph of himself without a prosthetic that MJ allowed to be taken, widely available online. Compare that photo to photos of him in public appearances and there can be no question that he was wearing a prosthetic.
@katiecouric Did he read the transcripts of Michael Jackson’s trial ?
— ralph(@ralphlulaneon) November 15, 2012
Randall’s Response: I went through the entire transcript of the trial, as noted in the Chapter Notes, and reviewed much of the evidence submitted at trial. I also went through the trial literally blow by blow with Tom Mesereau, with whom I’ve probably had something on the order of fifty conversations about all of this.
@katiecouric Did Sullivan talk to Lisa Marie Presley? I would imagine she, of all people, would know t/ truth on that score.
— Elizabeth Richards (@Lizcurly1) November 15, 2012
Randall’s Response: No, I did not interview Lisa Marie, though I tried. But as I said on the show Lisa Marie would be one of two people who would know.
RT @ilive4u4me: @katiecouric – Where is his proof that Michael died a virgin?Not hearsay…proof.
— Fans United 4 MJ(@U4MJL) November 15, 2012
Randall’s Response: As I state in the book and on Katie, I do not know to a certainty, but it is the conclusion best supported by the evidence. The evidence would be that no one credible except Lisa Marie has ever said they were sexually active with him.
Did Randall respond to your concerns? What else would you ask him about "Untouchable"?
